Beauty can be found in simplicity. In these places they're visiting, people tend to have just what they need. Things have been made with care which seems to last many lifetimes. The market places can be hectic, but when you have a look at these photos it seems to be nothing but peaceful and serene. How relaxing to be visiting such a beautiful place. Let's not forget though, there are classes to take, stitching to be done, and fabric to dye in woad. There is a little bit of work to be done. Below is a stitchery that Cathy Mogull (one of the fabulous French General team) completed on woad dyed fabric. It's 'Some rules for students and teachers' by Sister Corita Kent. Cathy has stitched all ten rules on cloth, and I love it not only for the words, but also for the stitching. Rule seven rings true, but I also like rule six: 'nothing is a mistake. There's no win and no fail, there's only make.' Let's get making.
