Jen Kingwell designs has a new range of mini Jelly Rolls, and we have some in store. These are a bundle of twenty 2 1/2" wide strips of fabric (as in a width of fabric, selvedge to selvedge). Usually a Jelly Roll has forty strips of fabric from a range, and normally that would have a few repeats of the same fabric in them. Now these have been created from five of her fabrics, so each Lollie is made up of four strips of five fabrics. We love this idea and you will too if paper piecing and appliqué are something you are fond of. Buying one of these to include in a quilt top gives you enough of the same style of fabric to keep your project cohesive, but at the same time it has the variety within the strips themselves. The reason being, the fabric has a multitude of spots, stripes, and checks within itself already. Such a good idea. Also, we currently have the bolts of fabric in the shop, so if you wanted to add more, or needed a border (how fabulous would that look!), they are currently available.
