A Hexagon Star

When Marg Sampson-George was over teaching her 'Going Green Gradually' class, she also brought along a few other quilts to show other ideas and compositions. On one of them she had a hexagon star which caught my eye, and so, the other day when we had a planned power outage at home, I found it the perfect time to hand sew. These are 3/4" hexagons (from Patchwork with Busy Fingers), with all sorts of different fabrics (Kaffe Fassett, Liberty of London, Cotton and Steel, Tilda, Day in the Country, and so on), sewn together with 50 weight Auriful thread. The background fabric is a beautiful linen that has lavender and purple goldfish on it. The plan was to include it in my ongoing quilt from Marg's first class at Hettie's Patch, but then I thought it may be a bit too big. Hmm, then again, maybe it's not.
